Parishioners and friends of Holy Trinity are encouraged to petition New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to sign a bill passed by both houses of the state legislature that calls for a two-year moratorium on carbon-intensive crypto mining.

The process through which cryptocurrencies are "mined" not only requires the use of excessive power, but in some cases, the process also re-activates wasteful fossil fuel plants in order to generate the needed electricity.

The bill would also mandate an extensive study of carbon-intensive cryptomining’s impact on our climate, followed by opportunities for public comment from all New York residents.
