August 6: Hildegard of Bingen, Her Life and Her Visions
Join us for one or all three Wednesdays this Summer: July 2, August 6, and September 10.
Following Wednesday Evening Prayer (6:00 PM) and Holy Eucharist (6:20 PM) in the Church, join us in air-conditioned Draesel Hall for a short program having to do with some aspect of the spirituality beneath, behind, and around the music, followed by dessert.
In September, Father Beddingfield and Adam Koch will lead us in an exploration of the life and of the 12th-century German abbess Hildegard of Bingen, who was a true “Renaissance woman” before the Renaissance. While our discussion in August focused on Hildegard’s life and her visions, in September, we’ll continue talking about her life, but focus more on her music and chant.
